Goal

To bring UVSA back to active status and stabilizing it for long-term sustainability.

Background

Despite being around for 9 years, currently UVSA has only two Executive Board members and an Intercollegiate Council in transition. There is no Board of Advisors, and UVSA has not obtained 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. The organization does not have a funding plan to carry out the projects that the ICC and VSAs have emphasized as priorities for UVSA. The sustainability of UVSA is filled with many uncertainties.

Strategic Aims

Identify issues, concerns, and priorities
Propose and ratify Constitutional amendments to clarify roles and expectations
Conduct public education on the UVSA roles and important changes to the Constitution
Fill vacant roles in the Executive Board

The United Vietnamese Student Associations of Northern California (UVSA) is a non-profit, non-partisan, community-based organization founded in 2002 as a means for youth to organize socially and civically in Northern California. Committed to cultural awareness, educating youth, and community service, UVSA is composed of volunteers—including young professionals, college students, and high school students—to help youth develop a sense of their Vietnamese heritage and identity.
